The School Day
Our school day has a rolling start between 8:35am and 8:45am, with registration taking place at 8:45am. The day ends for all year groups at 3:15pm. This means children attend school for 33 hours and 20 minutes per week.
Break and Lunch
Each year group has their own morning breaktime and 45 minute lunch break as follows:
Break | Lunch | |
---|---|---|
Year 3 | 10:30am | 12.00pm-12:45pm |
Year 4 | 11.00am | 12:30pm-1:15pm |
Year 5 | 10:45am | 12.00pm-12:45pm |
Year 6 | 11.15am | 12:45pm-1:30pm |
Assemblies
Assemblies vary throughout the year, with a mixture of year group assemblies, upper and lower school assemblies and whole school assemblies. These assemblies cover a range of topics, including current and annual events, singing and celebrations.
Drop-off and Collection
At the beginning of the school day, parents are encouraged to leave their child at the school gate leading into the playground. Children then walk safely across the playground and into the school building thereby promoting a little independence. In the afternoons, parents are welcome to come into the playground to wait for children to be released by their class teacher. If normal arrangements have to be altered (e.g. you are delayed or another person is collecting your child) please let us know. This will avoid any confusion or upset.
Getting to School
To get to and from school, walking is definitely the best option! There are lots of benefits: It’s healthier than travelling by car, it improves the safety of pedestrians and road-users and it respects nearby residents and parking regulations. If you do need to travel by car, please park wisely, safely and considerately.
